Superhero Origins- The Suicide Squad

Task Force X, also called the Suicide Squad, is Amanda Waller's task force program within A.R.G.U.S that enlists incarcerated highly skilled, super-enhanced and metahuman criminals from Belle Reve Penitentiary to undertake high-risk, black-ops missions. Task Force X was created following the founding of the Justice League, with the original intention of being used to fight any and all worldwide metahuman threats following the Second Metahuman Outbreak

Other than Amanda Waller, Colonel's Steve Trevor and Rick Flag are the official team leaders of Task Force X, with Katana being third in command.

During the events of the Injustice War, Task Force X became greatly divided, with Livewire, Nightshade and El Diablo joining Lex Luthor, while the rest either remained neutral or returned to a life of crime.

History

Formation

Following the Justice League's victory against A.M.A.Z.O. and the beginning of the Second Metahuman Outbreak, Amanda Waller, the director of A.R.G.U.S, became fearful of another attack on earth. She proposed forming a task force comprised of expendable individuals with exceptional powers and abilities who help fight, or at the least, postpone another attack, using them as expendable agents.

Recruitment

After the team was approved for formation by the United States government, Waller, Steve Trevor and Rick Flag traveled to Belle Reve Penitentiary, and began conscripting their first recruits, with the aid of Waller's associate Katana. Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Killer Croc, El Diablo, Killer Frost, Livewire, Black Spider were all conscripted into the team. When all were brought out and presented, they had chips injected into them which were nano-bombs to keep them at bay, halting any attempt to escape.

Following the Injustice War, El Diablo and Nightshade were captured while Livewire was seemingly killed. Amanda Waller informed the President that the Nano-bombs used to control the team were permanently disabled. Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang and Deadshot had escaped.
