The Emotional Spectrum is an energy field that is fueled by the emotions of all sentient beings. Inadvertently, sentient beings channeled and created eight unique forms of energy based on their emotions, with a certain color unique to the emotion. The current energy fields known are Willpower, Fear, Rage, Hope, Love, Avarice, Compassion and Happiness.
Later, three other energy fields were created, harnessing non-emotions including Life, Death and Apathy.
According to a prophecy in the Book of Oa, these eight energies of the emotional spectrum would be harnessed by different Lantern Corps, which would go to war with each other in a conflict called the War of Light and fulfilling The Blackest Night Prophecy.
Green Lantern Corps[]
The Lantern Corps of Willpower, this lantern corps is the oldest known lantern corps in the Universe, and was founded by ancient Maltusians, now known as the Guardians of the Universe, after they discovered and eventually harnessed this field, and founded the Green Lantern Corps.
