The Blessing of Shazam is a magic blessing bestowed on a chosen hero of the Council of Elders.
History[]
The blessing was created thousands of years ago by the members of the Council of Elders. The council decided that only a mortal being would be chosen for this blessing, which each of the Elders granting their champion one divine power:
- Stamarim granted their champion divine authority and power
- Hiwaelle granted their champion great stamina
- Awyss granted their champion divine strength
- Zzamaz granted their champion divine speed
- Amiffae granted their champion great courage
- Mamaragan granted their champion great wisdom
In Ancient Kahndaq, the Council discovered a Human named Teth-Adam, finding him worthy enough to be granted their blessing. For a short time, Teth-Adam proved himself worthy, until he began to abuse his power, resulting in the Massacre of Kahndaq, slaughtering thousands. Before the council could successfully strip Adam of the blessing, he returned to the Rock of Eternity, defeating and killing them one by one. Mamaragan, empowered by his own wisdom, found his way to overpower Adam and banish him far outside the Galaxy, enough to keep him returning to Earth for several millennia.
With Adam defeated and banished, Mamaragan remained in the Rock for millennia, becoming increasingly cynical of mankind, but still believed when the time was right, he would need a champion again. In 2017, Mamaragan would choose Billy Batson as his new champion. During the showdown at the Fawcett City History Museum,
