The Amazons are a society of all-female minor Olympians that inhabit the island of Themyscira. Their male equivalents are the Gargareans, who live on the island of Thalarion.
History[]
In ancient times, the Olympian Gods created two races of enhanced beings, the Amazons, reincarnated from the souls of women who had been killed by men, and the Gargareans from men who had died in battle. Zeus created two islands, Themyscira for the Amazons, and Thalarion for the Gargareans.
Biology[]
Like the more advanced Olympian gods, the Amazons bear an identical outward physical form and appearance to that of human females. However, they are otherwise quite different from normal women, due to their superior physical attributes, as well as their superior skills in armed and hand-to-hand combat. Whilst living in their homeland of Themyscira, Amazons are incapable of growing old or being affected by diseases, but can still be slain or killed via gunshots.
